With this being my first time going out of the country to work with kids i'm excited to see many things. The main thing i'm looking forward to is working with the kids and seeing how they like our puppet show we worked so hard on. I'm excited that we have so many donations to take down there, I though we weren't going to have enough space in the suit cases we had so many. This is definitely a once in a life time experience that i'm glad I jumped at it should be fun for everybody.

We are hours away from departing to Honduras. I am so excited about
going and providing school supplies to the children and the schools in the area. I am even more excited to perform the Appalachia version of Cinderella to the children with the puppets we all made. This trip is going to be a life changing experience for everyone and I cannot wait until it begins! Students have been preparing lessons and creating a puppet show that they will perform as we travel to different schools in Honduras. They worked on the script, the puppets, and the scenery. They've also been preparing crafts, learning about Honduras, and packing the suitcases. We're off tonight, and we're ready to go!
I cannot wait either! This is going to be a great trip!
In this space the students and faculty will be posting reflections of the adventures we'll be experiencing before, during, and after our travels in Honduras. We'll post photos whenever possible, but internet connections may be unreliable so if you don't hear from us for a day or two don't worry--we'll be back online soon!
Please post your comments and questions so that we can all participate in this learning adventure. |
